Getting to Krabi

Krabi by Car

From Bangkok

Take Route 4, passing Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khirikhan, Chumphon, Ranong, and Phangnga Provinces before reaching Krabi a total distance of 946 kilometers. An alternate route is to take Route 4 to Chumphon and then turn onto Route 41. This leads through Lang Suan and Chaiya Districts of Chumphon to Wieng Sa District of Surat Thani from there follow Route 4035, passing Ao Luk District of Krabi, back onto Route 4, and down to Krabi Town. This shortcut is just 814 kilometers, and is followed by the bus services.

From Phuket

Take Route 402 to Route 4 and pass Tambon Kok Kloy of Takua Thung District in Phang-nga Thap Pud District, Phang-nga and enter Ao Luk District of Krabi the total distance is 185 kilometers. Regarding bus transport from Phuket, contact, Tel.(076)211480.

Krabi by Bus

Non-air-conditioned buses and air-conditioned coaches leave for Krabi daily from Bangkok's Southern Bus Terminal. Air-conditioned buses, varying in 3 types, depart from Bangkok at the following times.

- VIP Bus - 6 p.m. and 6.30 p.m.
- Standard 1 Bus - 7.30 a.m., 7 p.m., 7.30 p.m. and 8 p.m.
- Standard 2 Bus - 7.30 p.m. and 8 p.m.
- The schedule mentioned above may be changed.

Krabi by Train

There is no direct train from Bangkok to Krabi. Visitors may take a train from Bangkok Railway Station to Trang or Thung Song, Nakhon Si Thammarat, and then ride a bus or a taxi to Krabi. By Ferries and Boat

Ferries and boats between Phuket and Krabi via Phi Phi Island are available.
From Phuket - Phi Phi Island a regular ferry trip takes approximately 2 hrs. During high season there are 2 scheduled trips to Phi Phi and return.

From Phi Phi Island - Krabi a regular ferry trip takes 1.5-2hrs, with 2 services running daily all year round. (Schedules are such that you can make the Phuket/Phi-Phi/Krabi trip within one day).

Other ferry services from Phi Phi and Krabi to Ao Nang and Koh Lanta are run on a daily basis all year round. Detailed information on ferry schedules and connections to the ferry piers in both Krabi and Phuket are available from the respective airports upon arrival there. Private boat charters to and from Krabi are also possible through local tour companies and agents.
